Hora de cuento - (Story Time)

I hope you enjoyed the story.  I though it would be fun for us to make our own alphabet book.   If you would like to learn how, watch the next video.

Materials:

Paper (as many pages as you have in your name, plus one extra for the front cover)

Pencil and crayons

Stapler

Ooops... looking back at the video, I made an error.  Eyes are 'ojos' not 'hojas'.  Your kids will probably notice this error.  At least I hope they do!

Parents:

This activity could be completed over several days.  In my classroom it would likely be done page by page, working a little each day.  Or, to make it easier, you (or a an older sibling) could write the beginning of the sentence and your child could write the last word.  Modify this activity to fit your child.

Alternate Activity:

Make 26 little flashcards and put one letter of the alphabet on each.  Mix them up and have your child put them in order then sing the alphabet song with your child.  Have your child point to each letter as he/she sings.  Ready for a challenge???  Try singing it backwards, again pointing to each letter as he/she sings.  We do this at school often.  Students were starting to get pretty good at singing backwards.  It is a great activity for letter recognition.
