Color Mixing & Rock Painting Fun


Good Morning!

I hope you are ready to have some fun and maybe get a little bit MESSY today!! Here is your warning now.....Make sure you have on painting clothes or an apron just in case!

Hopefully, you have had a chance to collect the materials you will need for today:
1. Red, yellow, and blue acrylic paint OR whatever paint you have at home would work fine. Acrylic paint will work best for the final activity.
2. Paper plate or thick white paper
3. various paint brushes
4. a couple smooth, large, paintable rocks

This is a cute story about being yourself. I also want you to use it for some inspiration to paint beautiful rocks.

It is time to get messy! Watch this next video for activity instructions. Pause the
video at any time and do the activities with me.

Art Challenge - Decorative Rocks:

Now it is your turn to be creative! I hope you were able to find some amazing flat paintable rocks. Use your paint and color mixing knowledge to create beautiful rocks. Once done you can spread them around your neighborhood or in your garden to put a smile on faces.

Look at the top of this lesson for some pictures for inspiration.

Science Time: Walking Rainbow Experiment/Demonstration

Watch the science kid and then make this super cool walking rainbow. Watch how
the colors mix!

Record Your Observations:
1. Get your journal or a piece of paper and tell me what you observed.
2. What happened?

5. How do you think it happened?
